Lock-up device (LUD) is of related velocity lock-up devices. They hardly play the role under normal circumstances, and they allow the rotation corner of beam and the horizontal displacement, which is caused by temperature difference and deformation. They will automatically lock up and play the function of fixed support under the effect of braking force, wind load or seismic load, so that the structure of one fixed pier under normal circumstances will become into two or more fixed piers. Thus the loads from upper structure will be effectively distributed to more piers, and the structure force will be more uniform so that the performance will be more stable and the construction costs will be effectively reduced. They are widely used in Taiwan high speed railways.

To make it possible that national railway operation speed reaches 200 km per hour after the 6th speeding up in 2007, this project adopts Lock-up Device.

It is an arch-combined bridge with dual-line pre-tensioning concrete continuous beams(82+172+82)m, with main length DK588+471.4. Its designed speed is 200km/h with the standard of passenger and goods sharing the same line, The beam body is single-box single-room, height changeable and cross-section box girder changeable with 337.8m long.
